DriverLink wasn't born from pure theory, but from real situations that happened to me in everyday life. These situations showed me how much we need a simple tool for quick contact with drivers.
One day my 7-year-old son asked me to open the rear window of the car. I did it, we drove home, I locked the car and... I forgot about the window.
The next morning I saw that the window had been open all night, and it was raining on top of that. My heart stopped when I saw the car — inside there's a dashcam worth almost 1000 PLN and upholstery at risk of flooding. Fortunately, nothing happened. A few days later, a neighbor approached me and said: "I saw that window, but I had no way to let you know. It would be nice to leave a phone number in such cases."
And that sentence stuck with me.
Another situation took place in Łódź, in the Manufaktura parking lot, during one of the big events. After a long search for a place, I finally managed to park. A few hours later, returning with the children to the car, I found a rain-soaked note behind the windshield wiper.
I could barely read the words: "We witnessed a collision with your car. Here is the license plate number and model of the perpetrator's car..."
At first I thought it was a joke because I didn't see any damage. Only when I looked at the car carefully did I notice a small scratch on the fender and wheel arch. I put the note aside, but only at home did I discover that additional information was written on the back: the witness's phone number and assurance that he had photos of the perpetrator.
Before I reported the matter to the police, I tried to find contact with the owner of the perpetrator's car - I searched for the license plate number on the internet, in databases and forums, hoping that I could settle the matter without police involvement and a high fine. Unfortunately, to no avail.
Eventually I managed to report the case and after long hours of formalities at the police station I received compensation and the perpetrator received a fine. But I thought to myself: if contact had been simpler and immediate, I would have saved myself stress, and the perpetrator would have avoided the trouble of fleeing the scene.
There was also a third situation - an ordinary morning under the block. Suddenly I hear screams: "Renault Megane! Renault Megane!". I looked out the window and saw that a car had slipped from its parking space and was standing in the middle of a narrow street, completely blocking the passage of several other drivers.
People were waiting, and one of the neighbors was trying to blindly call the car owner. Unfortunately, no one appeared, and the problem was probably due to a non-functioning or not applied handbrake.
After 20 minutes of unsuccessful attempts to locate the driver, someone came up with the idea to push the car back into place and secure the wheels with a large stone. The situation looked funny from the side, but in practice it was really troublesome.
If it had been possible to quickly contact the owner, the problem would have been solved in a minute - the driver would have come down and secured his car.
All these stories show one thing: how many problems could be avoided if there was a simple way to contact a driver.
- Open window? - you close it in a minute. - Collision? - the perpetrator or witness informs you immediately. - Blocked road? - the owner comes down and moves the car.
There are many similar situations: lost license plates, lights left on, blocking someone in a parking lot, or even the need to leave details after an accidental collision.
You could leave your number on a piece of paper behind the windshield and be done with it. But this has several disadvantages:
DriverLink solves these problems in a simple and safe way:
1. you add your license plate number to the database, 2. anyone who wants to contact you enters it on the DriverLink website, 3. you receive an email or SMS with the message.
You can also order discreet QR stickers to stick on the inside of the windshield. The code leads directly to a contact form assigned to your vehicle.
It's fast, convenient and - most importantly - safe, because you don't have to publicly share your phone number or email.
👉 This is how DriverLink was born. From the need for simple, human contact - to save drivers time, nerves and money.
Don't wait for an unpleasant situation to happen. By adding your license plate number to DriverLink, you gain:
- quick contact in case of collisions or other problems, - security - you don't have to share your phone number publicly, - peace of mind - you know that if necessary, someone can quickly notify you.
